Photos of cabin of flight AC624 which crashed in Halifax in March released by TSB

HALIFAX – The Transportation Safety Board is giving an inside look at the cabin of flight AC624, the Air Canada plane that crash landed on the Halifax Stanfield International Airport runway in March.

The never-before seen photos of the interior of the airplane show oxygen masks hanging from the ceiling of the aircraft, as well as significant damage to the floor in some places. The TSB attributes that damage to punctures from below by “aircraft structure.”

Magazines are seen left on the floor of the aircraft.

The plane was on route from Toronto to Halifax when it touched down 335 metres short of the runway. The Air Canada Airbus A320-200 aircraft then skidded and bounced about another 335 metres before coming to a stop part way across the runway.

There were 133 passengers and five crew members on board; 25 people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
