WINNIPEG- Thousands of Manitobans are in for a unique taste of culture, art and entertainment this weekend.
Festivals in cities across Canada start Friday highlighting unique communities and their most original work during Culture Days, which runs until September 27.
In Manitoba, there will be 345 free interactive activities planned including live bands, spoken word poetry, theatre and dance performances.
On Saturday, downtown Winnipeg will showcase galleries and kiosks throughout the Exchange District and St. Boniface all night.
Artists, creators, historians and designers will display their talent to people of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in new experiences.
More than 7.5 million Canadians have participated in Culture Days with 33,000 activities in 900 cities and towns since it launched 2010.
The goal is to encourage people to engage in arts and cultural events, take on more volunteer work and donate to grass roots organizations.
