Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash near Springside, Sask. on Tuesday. The crash between a northbound SUV and an eastbound semi-tractor trailer unit happened around 1:30 p.m. CT at the juncture of highways 16 and 47.
The driver of the SUV, a 73-year-old man, and his passenger, a 73-year-old woman, both from Moose Jaw, were declared dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.

The semi driver was not injured.

Highway 16 at the junction of Highway 47 was closed for over nine hours while Mounties carried out their investigation and cleared the scene.
