SASKATOON – Police chased down a suspect allegedly in possession of drugs and weapons in Saskatoon’s Westmount neighbourhood Saturday night. The 34-year-old man is now facing numerous charges.
Initially, officers were called to the 300-block of Avenue J North at 9:30 p.m.
The suspect attempted to run from police and a short foot pursuit ensued. He was apprehended without incident.
Police have laid 21 charges pertaining to a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre firearm, a fake gun, edged weapons and drugs.
The accused was scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace Sunday morning. His name has not been released.
