ST. ALBERT, Alta. – An Alberta man had joked so many times about winning the lottery that his wife didn’t believe him when they finally hit the jackpot.
And what a jackpot – Raymond Scott’s winning ticket from the Aug. 7 Lotto Max draw is worth $50 million.
Scott, who lives in the hamlet of Fort Kent in east-central Alberta, says his wife just looked at him and said "Yeah, OK, whatever'' when he told her they'd won.
He says her rather subdued reaction was no doubt because he always tells her they’ve won the lottery – even if it’s just a tiny amount.
He purchased the ticket at a mini-mart that has sold him some lucky tickets in the past.
The couple just got married last summer and are planning to finally go on a honeymoon.
