TORONTO – The biggest meteor shower of the year reached its peak Wednesday night and into the early hours of Thursday, putting on a spectacular natural light show.
Aided by an almost new moon, amateur and professional stargazers were able to capture the beauty of the Perseids, lighting up social media.

Although the shower reached its climax last night, where upwards to 100 meteors flew past Earth, the Perseids remain active until August 26.
