Impact trades Jack McInerney to Columbus

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact have traded striker Jack McInerney to the Columbus Crew for a 2016 second-round draft pick.

The Impact needed to clear a roster space with the recent acquisition of forward Didier Drogba and midfielder Johan Venegas.

The 22-year-old McInerney was acquired by Montreal in April 2014 for Andrew Wenger.

The American has 36 goals in 138 career MLS matches.
