Police closed Northwest Marine Drive for some time, but by 10 p.m. fire crews had fully contained the blaze.

Smoking is banned on Wreck Beach and Pacific Spirit Park, but there is no word on the fire’s cause.

The park is operated by Metro Vancouver, which moved to Stage 3 water restrictions earlier this week.
