NEAR WEST KELOWNA — Prime Minister Stephan Harper is in town.

He’ll be visiting the fire fighters battling the Shelter Cove fire near West Kelowna.

A news release states that he’ll be accompanied by BC Premier Christy Clark for a brief stop by the wildfire incident command post on Westside Road this afternoon to thank some of the men and women fighting the Westside Road fire.

Yesterday, Premier Christy Clark and local MLA Steve Thomson paid a visit to the fire fighters.

At the time, Clark gave no hint that Harper would be dropping by.

The Shelter Cove fire has grown from 430 hectares to 460 and is not contained.
