UPDATE: All watches mentioned in this story have ended
SASKATOON – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Saskatoon and area. Environment Canada officials say conditions are favourable Tuesday for the development of severe storms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
The watch is also in place for most central and southern regions of the province.
The reason is a moist and unstable airmass in place over Saskatchewan today. Officials say as an area of low pressure approaches from the west, thunderstorms will begin to develop this afternoon which may become severe as the afternoon progresses.
