TORONTO — Toronto police have charged two suspects in connection with the alleged home invasion and robbery of an escort in the city’s west end.

Police allege a woman working as an escort was in her apartment with another woman in the Queensway Avenue and Windermere Avenue area on July 7.

Police said a man then allegedly entered the room and held a knife to her throat before tying her up with duct tape to “prevent her from escaping,” and robbed the apartment of about $55,000 worth of jewelry, clothing, accessories and cash.

On Thursday, police arrested the two suspects on various charges in connection with the alleged incident.

Lia Genest Matte, 22, and Gaensly Dazulme, 29, both of Quebec, have each been charged with armed robbery, forcible confinement and possession of a weapon. Dazulme has also been charged with disguise with intent.

Police say they were scheduled to appear in court at College Park on Friday.
