“As fans of this prolific author know, Ms. Munro’s literary talent, wisdom and humanity, reflected in her stories over several decades, have earned her recognition that few writers in any language or country attain,” said Canada Post president and CEO Deepak Chopra.

The acclaimed writer won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2013 and has three Governor General’s awards, two Giller Prize wins and a Man Booker International Prize for lifetime achievement.

Canada Post chose to release the stamp on Munro’s 83rd birthday.
