CALGARY – A 20-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after a serious crash in the city’s northeast on Monday.
Police were called to McKnight Boulevard N.E. between Barlow Trail and Metis Trail around 1:15 a.m.
Investigators say an eastbound Acura lost control and struck the centre concrete divider.
The driver was rushed to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.
A 19-year-old passenger from the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police say speed is considered to be a factor in the collision.
EDITORS NOTE: Although police originally indicated to Global News that it was possible alcohol may have been involved, further updates have revealed alcohol is not thought to be a factor in the collision.
