Cooda the pug finds her forever home

WATCH: Just days after her owners tried to trade her online for “almost anything,” Cooda the pug has found a loving home with a family in Île Bizard. Global’s Gloria Henriquez reports.

DOLLARD-DES-ORMEAUX – Cooda the pug captured hearts after it was revealed the adorable dog was being traded online for “almost anything.”

Now, after Cooda’s story was followed and shared countless times on social media, an Île Bizard family has come forward to adopt her.

Cooda’s previous owners caused a stir when they posted a Kijiji ad on Tuesday looking to trade the animal for a long list of possible items including NHL merchandise, a Play Station 3, a barbecue and even a tattoo.

Siegfried Vanderwee, who rescued Cooda and gave her owners $250 on Wednesday, said he was shocked by the ad.

He couldn’t keep her long-term though, as a DDO by-law only allows for a maximum of two dogs per household.

Vanderwee told Global News he asked for a background check on Cooda’s new parents.

They had no criminal record and he said he’s happy to hand her over.

Cooda joined the family’s two other pugs on their Île Bizard farm Friday afternoon, right after a check up with the vet.
