Fire burning near ZipZone Peachland now under control

A small fire is burning near a zip line attraction in Peachland.

Fire information officer Kelsey Winter says the fire is near ZipZone Peachland, an attraction five kilometres to the west of the municipality.

The fire, which is approximately 0.7 hectares in size, started around 11:30 a.m. and is still spreading. Nine firefighters are on scene, along with a skimmer group and a helicopter bucketing water.

There are no homes in the nearby area and no structures are threatened, but the fire is on steep terrain.
