Alcohol possibly a factor in serious northwest crash

CALGARY – Police believe alcohol played a role in a crash in the city’s northwest that injured three people on Thursday.

The two vehicle collision happened in the intersection of Shaganappi Trail and Bowness Road N.W. just after 11 p.m.

A man in his twenties was found unresponsive and trapped in his Nissan SUV when emergency crews arrived. He was taken to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.

Two women were trapped inside the second vehicle. EMS say both women, one in her forties and one in her sixties, were conscious and alert. They were taken to hospital in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
