Driver dead, 2-year-old in hospital after Crowsnest Pass ATV rollover

CALGARY – A 33-year-old Okotoks man is dead and a two-year-old boy is in hospital after a Saturday night ATV crash on a trail in the Dutch Creek area north of Crowsnest Pass.

Just before 6 p.m. on Saturday, investigators said a southbound ATV with four people in it rolled down a steep embankment after leaving a remote trail.

The driver was taken to hospital  by STARS air ambulance, but died of his injuries on Sunday.

Two passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The two-year-old remains in Calgary at the Alberta Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Crowsnest Pass RCMP continue to investigate and are not releasing the name of the driver at this time.
