Manitoba Liberals demand inquiry into missing CFS kids

WINNIPEG- Manitoba’s Liberal Party says too many kids under the care of Child and Family Services go missing and is demanding the NDP call an inquiry into the matter.

“It is unacceptable that these children may end up in the sex trade…may end up being murdered,” said Manitoba Liberal leader Rana Bokhari. “It’s about all children.”

The Liberal Party says data from the Winnipeg Police Service show about 4,000 kids in care are reported missing in a single year, compared to about 1,000 kids who are not in care. In both cases the number represents children who may have run away more than once.
