TORONTO — Spike TV says it will cut a comment by Clint Eastwood out of the June 18 broadcast of its Guys’ Choice 2015 show.

During the taping of the awards show on Saturday night, Eastwood reportedly compared Dwayne Johnson to former athletes who became actors, like “Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody…”

The 85-year-old actor-director was referring to Caitlyn Jenner, who debuted last week on the cover of Vanity Fair.

In an email, Spike TV senior vice president of communications David Schwartz confirmed Eastwood’s comment will not be broadcast.

Last week, actor-singer Drake Bell came under fire after a tweet about Jenner. He later apologized.
