Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an Abbotsford church to go up in flames.
It happened after a couple on a late-night walk spotted smoke pouring from a second-floor window.
Firefighters were called around 11 p.m. to the church on George Ferguson Way, just east of Sprott Shaw College.

They arrived to find a fire in the building’s basement.
Crews quickly got control of the flames and say it could have been much worse if it hadn’t been spotted so early.
Assistant chief Craig Bird with Abbotsford Fire Department told Global News they were not sure if the drywall compound of the building contained asbestos, so firefighters had to take extra precautions and hose down afterward.
Bird says there is smoke damage throughout the building.
