Table for 1201 held at Manitoba Legislature

Winnipeg – 1201 Winnipeggers enjoyed a feast on the grounds of the Manitoba Legislature Building Saturday night.

At 7 PM Saturday, Table Captains and diners were in a mad rush to “pop up” their tables and create a dinner setting complete with decor.

Included in the event, a mini design competition for the best table, and $1,200 in prizes were won.

All diners were encouraged to wear white.  At the head table, Federal Minister Shelly Glover and Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger.

The meal created by Deer + Almond chef Mandel Hitzer and Ben Kramer from Diversity Food Services.

“Table For 1201 provides a great opportunity to highlight Winnipeg’s emerging design scene by bringing together architecture, design, and the culinary arts to create an evening of entertainment and stimulating conversation in an absolutely unique setting,” said Curator and StorefrontMB Director, David Penner.

Table For 1201 is organized as part of StorefrontMB’s mandate to raise awareness about the value of architecture, design, and urbanism to the broader community.

150 tables of eight and 365 metres long, were constructed on the Legislature grounds.

Table for 1201 saw representatives from all levels of government, prominent institutions, businesses, arts organizations, and citizens alike.
