Watch above: A zip line experience in northern Saskatchewan brings a new perspective to Elk Ridge Resort. Joelle Tomlinson has a sneak peak and goes zip lining.
ELK RIDGE RESORT, Sask. – Saskatchewan’s newest zip line canopy tour will be open for business on June 13. The high-flying experience is located in Elk Ridge Resort, just outside of Prince Albert national park.
It’s operated by Eco-Adventures 306, a company that introduced the zip line canopy tour to Saskatchewan years ago in Cypress Hills.
“We finished building in November,” said Jori Kirk, owner of Eco-Adventures 306.

“We’ve got seven zip lines, you cross two massive sky bridges. They’re 160 feet long and show off some really epic viewpoints when you get up top.”

Participants can book online and Kirk says spots are filling up quickly. The entire tour takes around two hours and features a side-by-side zip line at the seventh and last platform.
“It’s an awesome perspective change, especially for people that have been out in the forest out in Cypress Hills or in Elk Ridge,” said Kirk.
“They’ve been there their whole life and used to looking from the ground up to the top of the trees. To flip that around really changes a lot.”
Other features include handmade wooden platforms, massive step ladders and incredible views. One portion zips directly over the Elk Ridge golf course.
The Elk Ridge zip line canopy tour season opens early in June, and the site is in its final stages of construction. Kirk will shuttle between his business in Cypress Hills and Elk Ridge to ensure both businesses are zipping along smoothly.
