CALGARY – One of two women convicted of murdering a Medicine Hat man will soon learner whether she will get out on bail.
Connie Oakes was convicted by a jury two years ago in the death of Casey Armstrong.

The man was found stabbed through the neck in the bathtub of his trailer in Medicine Hat, Alta. in 2011.
Oakes was convicted of second-degree murder and her co-accused, Wendy Scott, pleaded guilty to the same charge.

According to court documents, Scott has since retracted her confession as well as her testimony at trial.
Oakes is appealing her conviction and a Calgary judge has promised a decision on her bail application by Friday.
