TORONTO – Energy services company ShawCor Ltd. (TSX:SCL.B) says its Bredero Shaw pipecoating division has won a “significant” contract to provide concrete weight coatings and other equipment and services for a Latin American natural gas pipeline project.
The value of the contract from Technip USA, announced Monday, was not revealed.

The project involves about 100 kilometres of pipe to be installed offshore to ship natural gas.
Bredero Shaw plans to do the work at La Brea, Trinidad. Initial operations will begin in the first quarter with concrete coating scheduled to start in the third quarter.
Concrete coating is needed for undersea pipelines to keep them weighed down on the seabed.
ShawCor Ltd is an energy services company specializing in products and services for the pipeline and pipe services and the petrochemical and industrial parts of the oil and gas industry.
Bredero Shaw is the company’s largest division and employs about 4,000 permanent and contract workers around the world.
