Coquitlam woman forced into SUV then sexually assaulted

VANCOUVER – A Coquitlam woman is recovering after she was forced into a SUV and then sexually assaulted a few weeks ago.

RCMP say just after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, a young woman was walking home in the area of Foster Avenue and Linton Street when a silver SUV stopped and the two men inside asked her for directions. During the conversation, one of the men got out and then forced the woman into the vehicle. She was then sexually assaulted.

After a few minutes they dropped her off in the area of Austin Avenue and Draycott Street and she walked home.

She called the Coquitlam RCMP later that morning.

The driver of the vehicle is described as:

  • Dark-skinned
  • Mid-late 20s
  • Short dark hair and dark eyes
  • No facial hair
  • No accent when speaking

The passenger, who allegedly committed the assault, is described as:

  • Dark-skinned
  • Mid-late 20s
  • Short dark hair and dark eyes
  • Approximately 5’7 tall. Unknown weight.
  • No accent when speaking

  • Silver SUV
  • Possibly a 1st generation Dodge Durango (1998-2003)

RCMP is asking anyone who lives in, or was travelling through, the area around Foster Avenue and Linton Street or Austin Avenue and Draycott Street in Coquitlam around the time of the incident, and saw or heard anything unusual to contact Coquitlam RCMP’s Sex Crimes Unit immediately at 604-945-1550. They are also urging anyone who may know something about the incident to contact them.
