Alberta Election 2015: Former Speaker of the House Gene Zwozdesky loses Edmonton-Mill Creek seat to NDP

Gene Zwozdesky, former Speaker of the House in the Alberta Legislature, has lost his seat in Edmonton- Mill Creek.

NDP candidate Denise Woollard won the southeast Edmonton riding Tuesday night.

Woollard tweeted the following picture on April 30.

Zwozdesky was previously the riding’s only MLA since it was created in 1997. He won as a Liberal, left caucus to sit as an Independent, and was then re-elected as a Conservative in 2001.
