WATCH: Lost dog takes bus to downtown Houston

One adventurous little Boston Terrier found himself in busy downtown Houston, Texas on Monday after boarding a bus and riding it for over 30 kilometres.

A passenger on the route 44 bus noticed the black and white dog board the bus with the rest of the crowd and saw it exit the bus downtown. He brought the dog to the police because he was afraid it would get hit by a car.

Officer Ida Schoener took the dog to the Bayou City Veterinary Hospital on her lunch break.

“He was a friendly little guy. He was very sociable. He was a gentleman,” Schoener told KHOU.

Veterinarian Kristy Kyle says the dog hasn’t been neutered, which may have contributed to its adventurous behaviour.

The animal hospital is taking care of the dog they have nicknamed “Metro” until a foster family or its owner is found.

A terrier rescue group and several animal lovers have offered to take care of the dog if the owners are not found.

“I would expect that he’s probably missing home as much as they’re missing him,” said Kyle.
