CALGARY – A second 911 tape from the night of Lacey Jones-McKnight’s murder was released to the public Monday after being played in court. Kristopher Guenther, Jones-McKnight’s ex-fiancé, is charged with first-degree murder in her Oct. 25, 2012 death.
The second tape was released as Guenther’s ex-girlfriend, Megan Thibault, testified that he had called her and described murdering Jones-McKnight.
Thibault said she didn’t believe his story, but alleged Guenther drove to the night club where she worked with Jones-McKnight’s body inside his car.
“I need to report a murder,” Thibault says in the 911 phone call made on the night of the murder.
“Did it just happen?” asks the police officer.
“I don’t think it just happened but I seen it…” she says.
The police officer then asks Thibault when she thinks the murder happened.
“Um, he told me he saw her, it started around three and then I don’t know how long they were together for but he just drove here with her and he just left,” she says.
“Sorry? He just what with her?” asks the officer.
“I told him I didn’t believe him so he drove here with her and he just left.”
“And you saw her?”
“Yeah. He told me to come over to his car ‘cause I didn’t believe him.”
“She is inside the vehicle?” asks the police officer.
“She was inside the vehicle, yeah.”

This tape is the second such recording that has been released to court in the trial. On Friday, court heard an emotional tape from Shelly Jones, the mother of Jones-McKnight, who called police and claimed Guenther had arrived at her house with a knife, handed her the knife, and asked her to kill him after confessing to the murder.
