Five cars torched at southeast impound lot

CALGARY – Police are searching for suspects after a handful of cars were set on fire at an impound lot on Monday morning.

Security guards spotted two people climbing over the fence of a lot in the 400 block of 39th Avenue southeast, around 3 a.m.

A few moments later, a fire could be spotted inside the lot.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered five vehicles fully engulfed in flames.

Police believe the suspects climbed back over the fence and into a waiting vehicle.

At this time, officers do not have a description of the suspects or the getaway car.
