Police dealing with several crashes on icy Saskatchewan highways

KINDERSLEY, Sask. – Police are urging drivers to exercise caution as freezing rain is leaving highways in western Saskatchewan coated in ice. Mounties say they have responded to several collisions on Highway 44 south of Glidden and Highway 7 east of Marengo.

Travel is not recommended on many highways in the Kindersley, Kerrobert and Eston areas. Police are asking motorists to check with the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline for the latest road conditions before heading out.

A freezing rain warning that was in place for the Kindersley, Leader and Swift Current regions has ended.
