According to Laval police spokesperson, Frank Di Genova, the suspect had booked a flight to the Caribbean, which was set to depart at 1 p.m.

A SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) team had been called in for support, as the suspect was believed to be armed.

In the end, the suspect did not arrive at the airport and no arrests were made.
