Suspect wanted in two Saskatoon robberies arrested by police

SASKATOON – A suspect in two recent robberies is in custody. A 49-year-old man is expected to see a justice of the peace Friday evening after he was arrested earlier in the day.

The most recent robbery took place Wednesday morning in the area of Avenue P South and 20th Street. Investigating officers were able to identify the vehicle involved in the street robbery through witnesses and surveillance video.

From there, they were able to identify the suspect and arrested him on Friday around 2 a.m.

He is also the suspect in the robbery of a 33rd Street grocery store on Jan. 18.

The unnamed man is facing charges of robbery, theft under $5,000 and assault with a weapon.
