Bruce Banman has been elected as the Mayor of Abbotsford.
This was a close race to watch as Abbotsford voters also cast their vote in a referendum concerning the proposed Stave Lake P3 water project. The referendum was defeated.
In what could be called an upset, Banman unseated previous Mayor George Peary.

Peary was the only candidate in favour of the P3 plan, but was also the only one of the five candidates who had any experience in office.
