NKOTB announces summer tour with Nelly, TLC

TORONTO — New Kids on the Block are heading out on tour this summer with Nelly and TLC, it was announced Tuesday.

The trio of pop acts will bring The Main Event tour to 41 cities, including Vancouver (May 5), Toronto (June 28) and Montreal (June 30).

Tickets will go on sale Jan. 31.

NKOTB is made up of Jonathan Knight (a competitor on the upcoming season of The Amazing Race), Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre (one of the stars of the comedy The McCarthy’s), Donnie Wahlberg (a star of Blue Bloods) and Danny Wood.

The group has released seven studio albums, including 2013’s 10.

Grammy-winning rapper-singer Nelly, whose hits include “Hot in Herre,” has also dabbled in acting. He appeared in 2005’s The Longest Yard and in several episodes of CSI:NY.

TLC, currently made up of T-Boz and Chilli, had hits like “Creep” and “Waterfalls.” The duo recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to help finance a new movie.
