CALGARY – SAIT Polytechnic is launching a new initiative with the hopes of helping students battle the blues.

The premise is simple: those who sign up for ‘The 28 Days of Happiness’ will get a supportive message in their inbox for the entire month of February.

“Starting Feb. 1, students who have signed up will receive an email every day with a positive message or activity they can do to boost their spirits,” says Manager of Student Development and Counselling at SAIT Lois Hayward.

In addition, post-secondary students have the added pressure of looming mid-terms and, and for many, the final semester before graduation and job hunting.

To help students put a smile on their face, the facility will be airing The Happy Movie over lunch on Monday— a documentary exploring the idea of a “happiness revolution.”

In addition, the SAIT Students’ Association will be handing out free beach-themed giveaways.
