STOCKHOLM – Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian, who was stripped of his bronze medal at Beijing Olympics after throwing it on the floor in protest, is returning to competition.
Newspaper Helsingborgs Dagblad quotes Sweden coach Benni Ljungback as saying that the 36-year old Greco-Roman wrestler is back on the mat, aiming for the 2012 Olympics in London.

Ljungback says Abrahamian has joined a two-week training camp that is currently taking place near Stockholm.
He says Abrahamian “hasn’t just joined to qualify for the Olympics,” but is aiming for a gold medal.
Abrahamian was stripped of his medal and expelled from the Beijing games after dropping his bronze on the floor in protest of a refereeing decision. World wrestling federation FILA also banned him for two years.
