Two bodies found in ruins of Sask. house fire

AHTAHKAKOOP FIRST NATION, Sask. – The bodies of two missing people have been recovered in the ruins of a Saskatchewan house fire. They were reported missing Monday morning after the fire broke out in the home on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.

Donna Kay, 61, and Teegan Ahenakew, 10, were located by investigators in the two-storey home. Both are from the First Nation.

Two men were able to make it out. They were treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the deadly blaze remains under investigation. Police say the fire is not believed to be suspicious.

Ahtahkakoop First Nation is approximately 170 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
