Drug trafficking, weapons charges for trio nabbed in stolen truck

SASKATOON – Three people are facing numerous charges after being nabbed by Saskatoon police in a stolen truck. The trio were arrested after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

Patrol officers spotted the truck being driven erratically in the area of Avenue W and 21st Street around 4 a.m. and were able to pull it over. A check found the truck had been reported stolen from the Warman area.

A search turned up two sawed-off firearms, knives, eight cell phones and 3.6 grams of meth along with drug paraphernalia.

A 25-year-old man and two women, 24 and 26, are each facing 12 firearm and weapon charges and one count each possession for the purpose of drug trafficking. The man is also facing three charges of breaching an undertaking.

The three are scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court Tuesday afternoon.
