WINNIPEG – National Hockey League Commissioner Gary Bettman will be back in Winnipeg spring 2015. The Rady Jewish Community Centre announced Bettman will be its keynote speaker for the annual Rady JCC Sports Dinner.
“It’s clear that these are exciting times for Winnipeg, and we couldn’t be more excited at the support the community has given the Jets,” said Bettman in a media release. “I’m thrilled to be part of an event that does so much good for this great city.”

Bettman has been the NHL’s commissioner since 1993 and also served as senior vice president of the National Basketball Association.
“Gary Bettman played a big role in the return of NHL hockey to Winnipeg,” said Rady JCC Sports Dinner Committee Chair Blair Worb in a statement. “He is highly respected for the work he’s done for the game, and has so much insight into the sport we love that he’s sure to be a draw for hockey fans and beyond.”

Bettman is just another big name in a long list of star studded speakers over the years. Magic Johnson, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Pete Rose, Bobby Hull, Don Cherry, Mickey Mantle, Cal Ripken Jr., Joe Montana and Scotty Bowman are just some of the marquee sports stars that have attended the yearly event.
The 43 annual dinner will take place on May 7th at the RBC Convention Centre.
