The fire department says it had difficulty extinguishing the fire due to limited access and the organic flax was packed inside the silo.

Firefighters used their aerial ladder unit to cut a large hole in the side of the structure to put out the flames.

The fire was under control in three and a half hours.

No injuries were reported.

An investigator is looking into the cause and damage is estimated at $10,000.
