It won’t come as a shock to anyone who has attended games, but a new study shows that going to a Vancouver Canucks game will cost you more than almost anywhere else in the NHL.
Team Marketing Report has released a report showing that the Canucks have the third highest average ticket prices in the NHL at $84.97 USD, behind only the Boston Bruins ($88.70) and Toronto Maple Leafs ($113.66).
They also added up the total costs for a family to go to a game – determined by four tickets, two beers, parking, and drinks, a hot dog and ball caps for the kids – and found the Canucks ranked fifth, at $456.35. However, that was only an increase of 2.5 per cent, the second smallest increase among the top 10 teams.
The team also ranked above the NHL average for the price of beer and parking.

The Canucks froze their season ticket prices this summer due to softening demand, and last month their decade-old sellout streak officially came to an end.

Kingsley Bailey, manager of Vancouver Ticket Services, says demand is down this year, but it means tickets will be more affordable for the average family.
“You’ll be sitting in the upper deck, but people don’t have a problem investing $80 for a ticket when they’re in a rebuilding mode.”
