SASKATOON – After losing two of their first three games, it looked like the Saskatoon Hilltops were in danger of not making the playoffs.

The boys in blue turned it around in a hurry, rattling off five consecutive wins to take hold of first place in the standings heading into the final week of the regular season.

On Sunday, the Hilltops were one victory away from earning home field advantage for playoffs at Saskatoon Minor Football Field.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Wildcats were fighting for a playoff spot.

The Hilltops hung on by the skin of their teeth in the fourth quarter, eliminating Edmonton 28-23.

On Oct.19, the Hilltops will host the Winnipeg Rifles in the first round of Prairie Football Conference (PFC) playoffs.
