TORONTO — Actor Stephen Collins, best known for playing Reverend Eric Camden on 7th Heaven, is reportedly the subject of a criminal investigation after allegedly confessing to molesting and exposing himself to at least three young girls.

According to TMZ, Collins was secretly recorded during a therapy session with his estranged wife Faye Grant in 2012.

The website reported that police in New York City launched an investigation last week against the 67-year-old star.  It said police in Los Angeles are also investigating.

In the recording, obtained by TMZ, a voice identified as that of Collins admitted molesting an 11-year-old relative of his first wife Marjorie Weinman. “There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis,” he said.

The man on the tape also admitted to exposing himself to the girl on more than one occasion.
