QHR acquired the secured debentures from Healthscreen’s lender in July after that company announced it was in default and seeking strategic options to restructure, and satisfy its obligation.

QHR said previously it acquired the debentures so it could play a role in the reorganization and provide continuing Healthscreen services to 5,200 doctors that use its medical office software.

It expects to be supporting more than 9,000 physicians across Canada, once the Healthscreen transaction is completed. QHR said Monday it expects to offer jobs to a number of Healthscreen employees once it receives court approval.
