CALGARY- All over the world today, people gathered for an international rally calling on government leaders to act on climate change.
In Calgary, more than 100 people converged on Olympic Plaza for a protest and march Sunday afternoon.
They carried homemade signs and banners, chanting and cheering for action.

Organizers say this is about forcing governments and world leaders to pay attention to what people all over the world are demanding.
“Alberta has an opportunity to be an energy leader but we’re really falling behind,” Chantal Chagnon from Idle No More Calgary said.
“We’re so dependent on fossil fuels and unrenewable sources of energy that we’re really expediting the process of climate change and global warming,” Chagnon said.
The march in Calgary was one of over two thousand happening in more than 160 countries today.
Protests were also held in Toronto, Vancouver, Halifax, and Fredericton.
The rallies are all in advance of the United Nations summit on climate change next week in New York.
