Seven Stones Community School officially opens in Regina

REGINA – The province and the Regina School Board officially celebrated opening up the new Seven Stones Community School in North Central Regina.

The $21.2 million school will hold up to 375 pre-kindergarten to grade 8 students from the old Herchmer and Wascana schools.

The new school will also have 51 childcare spaces to support the growth in the community.

Seven Stones also features a new integrated educational learning centre, which is designed to help special needs students develop more fluidly with the rest of the kids.

“Our newest school represents our commitment to the North Central community, and to all of Regina public school students and families, to create learning environments that are culturally, environmentally and fiscally responsible,” Regina Board of Education Chairperson Katherine Gagne said.

“Seven Stones Community School’s innovative design further complements our staff’s ongoing work to offer students personalized, responsive learning opportunities that will give them the skills required to succeed in life.”

Since 2007, the government of Saskatchewan has committed around $700 million towards 47 school projects.
