Carrey, Myers among comedians honoured with stamps

TORONTO — Comedians Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short and Olivier Guimond are being honoured with a set of stamps from Canada Post.

The stamps were issued Friday.

“Canada is the birthplace of some of the world’s most successful comedians and our series is about some of the many Canadian comedians who keep us laughing,” said Jim Phillips, Director of Stamp Services at Canada Post, in a release.

The stamps, available in booklets of 10, were designed by Kosta Tsetsekas, Mike Savage and John Belisle of Vancouver’s Signals Design Group.

The stamps pay tribute to some of the stars’ most memorable roles — including Shorts’ Ed Grimley, Myers’ Austin Powers, and Carrey’s Ace Ventura.

Carrey, O’Hara, Myers and Short are natives of Southern Ontario and the late Guimond hailed from Montreal.
