Officers arrived on scene – in the park, east of the golf course – and found a 40-year-old man. He was pronounced dead.

The cyclist was riding with his three nephews and a family friend. It appears he was trying to catch up with the group when he lost his balance near a set of stairs and fell.

Officials have not been able to determine if a medical episode played a role in the accident. They have not yet confirmed if the man was wearing a helmet.
