SASKATOON – The Barenaked Ladies rocked Saskatoon’s Delta Bessborough Gardens Wednesday evening with all money raised from the sold-out show going to a good cause.

Three thousand people were in attendance for the Cameco Cares concert that raised $160,000 for the Royal University Hospital Foundation.

For the Barenaked Ladies, they were happy to play a show where the money is going back to the community.

“I think it’s great that the community has galvanized around this … it’s nice for us from Toronto to come in and help out,” said bassist Jim Creeggan.

“Our job’s easy, like we just come and entertain people, it’s the community that’s raised the money … that’s rallied together and raised money for the hospital,” added vocalist and guitarist Ed Robertson.

The show was the first in a four-year series of concerts to benefit Saskatoon hospital foundations.
