REGINA – Staff at the Legislative Building are used to having birds and rabbits hanging around the grounds, but a security guard caught two young love-birds in a compromising position atop the Legislative dome.
Guards called police early Friday morning when they saw a man and a woman climbing the stairs of the scaffolding up around the Legislative Building while construction crews are renovating the dome.
When police arrived, they found the couple spending some ‘quality time together’ at the top of the dome.
They were both written trespassing tickets and sent on their way. The age of the couple has not been released.
Assistant Deputy Minister of Central Services Richard Murray said they don’t find the situation humourous, since the active construction site is a huge safety risk. New, stricter security measures will be in place as early as tonight.
